CARBIDE

MODULAR DRILLING SYSTEMS

Efficiency due to Modular Carbide Cutting Tools.

Modular drilling systems with inserts made of tungsten carbide have been proven a reliable cutting tool solution for drilling at the highest level.

A comprehensive range of cutting-grades and high-performance cutting geometries, as well as drill bodies in various lengths, make the modular carbide cutting systems much more flexible and productive compared to one-piece twist drills.

The modular carbide cutting systems are characterized by a high chip control and high cutting- and feed rates. With their flexibility, their highest performance level and outstanding tool lives, modular carbide-tipped drills make a valuable contribution to increasing productivity and competitiveness.

DESIGN-

FEATURES

The exchangeable CUTTING INSERTS are made of tungsten carbide. Tungsten carbide provides a variety of excellent material properties: great hardness combined with toughness as well as its resistance to heat and wear.

The very fact that tungsten carbide has a particular heat resistance, carbide-tipped drills enable much higher cutting speeds (up to 3 times faster) compared to HSS drills. Special cutting edge geometries that are well-suited to the material to be machined ensure technological advantages.

The cutting inserts are available in different carbide grades and tailored to your specific production process.

The DRILL BODIES (holders) are made of tool steel. Their design is similar to twist drills. The grooves ensure a good chip removal. The cooling lubricant is supplied by the tool shank. The cutting insert has to be positioned at the cutting area and tightened into place there.

The drill bodies are availale in different lengths.
