Compared to oxyfuel-cutting, the plasma cutting technology is faster and more efficient in the lower thickness range (sheets up to max. 40 mm).

Cutting thicknesses of up to 160 mm are absolutely possible and are often used when cutting stainless steel. Plasma also cuts rusty steel and oily surfaces. Even painted surfaces can be cut by plasma – provided that the coating does not exceed a certain layer thickness.

The cutting quality is not exclusively determined by the system or its type of torch. The cutting quality is mainly determined by the cutting speed and the correctly adjusted height of the torch in relation to the cutting material. Correct setting values and consumables of high quality are to be understood.
